Mercerized means that this satin has undergone special treatment that makes the fabric stronger and enhances its characteristic satin sheen. The fabric is also virtually resistant to pilling and does not become fuzzy from friction. These fabrics do not fade, and shrinkage is minimal and occurs only during the first wash (it is important to follow the satin washing instructions and not exceed 30°C). Thanks to the special treatment, the sheen remains even after 300 washes.
Bed linen made from mercerized satin costs more than products made from untreated cotton, but for many people the choice is obvious: it is better to pay a little more and get bed linen that will last a long time and retain its original appearance.
The pattern on the bed linen is applied using reactive printing.
Reactive dyeing is a unique pattern application method in which the dye penetrates deep into the fabric fibers, becoming part of the material. The colors are rich and retain their brightness during use. Reactive dyeing is suitable for expensive and delicate fabrics. The bed linen does not fade when washed.
How to care for mercerized satin bed linen:
• Wash cotton bed linen separately from other items, especially items made of synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers.
• Turn the duvet cover and pillowcases inside out before washing and fasten the zippers.
• We recommend washing natural cotton bed linen every 7–10 days in warm water (30°C) with a mild detergent, preferably liquid, using a delicate cycle.
• Avoid using fabric softeners, as they may damage the natural fabric and cause yellowing.
• Natural cotton bed linen should be dried immediately after washing. If using a tumble dryer, select a delicate cycle.
• It is best to iron at high temperatures while the fabric is slightly damp. You can also use a steam generator.
