Mercerized means that this satin has undergone a special treatment that makes the fabric stronger and enhances its characteristic sheen. The fabric also resists pilling and does not become fuzzy from friction. These fabrics do not fade and shrink minimally (provided you follow the satin washing instructions and wash at no more than 30°C); any shrinkage occurs only during the first wash. Thanks to the special treatment, the sheen remains even after 300 washes.
Mercerized satin bed linen costs more than similar products made from untreated cotton, but for many, the choice is obvious: it is better to pay a little extra for bed linen that will last a long time and retain its appearance.
The pattern on the bed linen is applied using reactive printing.
Reactive dyeing is a unique method of applying a pattern: the dye penetrates deep into the fabric fibers, becoming part of the fabric. The colors are rich and retain their brightness with use. Reactive dyeing is suitable for delicate, high-quality fabrics. The bed linen does not fade in the wash.
How to care for mercerized satin bed linen:
• Wash cotton bed linen separately from other items, especially those made with synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers.
• Turn the duvet covers and pillowcases inside out before washing, and fasten the zippers.
• We recommend washing natural cotton bed linen every 7-10 days in warm water (30°C) with a mild detergent, preferably liquid, using a delicate cycle.
• Avoid using fabric softeners, as they may damage the natural fabric and cause it to yellow.
• Dry natural cotton bed linen immediately after washing. If using a tumble dryer, choose a delicate cycle.
• Iron while slightly damp at a high temperature. You can use a steam generator.
